Resumé

Woodcarving

I
n almost 60 years experience in which I have tried most things, I found that I prefer the sculptural to the decorative and the human figure, in groups or singly as my subject of choice.

Sculpture

O
ver 40 years experience and have tried my hand with clay, wax, plaster, metal, plastic, and stone but prefer direct carving
in wood.

Chainsaw Carving

Chainsaw carving is a natural extension of my normal carving and sculpture practice. I am trying to drop this sort of work as at 66, I am coming to a time when climbing up 6 foot of palettes to carve a 12-foot tree is less appealing.

Drawing

Drawing is the basis of all my work. I always carry a sketchbook and work in it most days. This constant looking improves the seeing of form which is essential to the carving process.

Organisational Skills

I
have been a Civil Service executive for 30 years and ran my own computer consultancy business. I understand the need to meet deadlines and price restraints.
