I was asked to carve the Lever Trust prize for several years.     The previous artist had worked in glass, so I assume that they changed the material / style every few years.  The brief was odd.    Lord Lever had seen an ancient bridge in Africa and sent his mason out to make drawings so he could make a copy for his estate.    From this beginning, the trust had decided on elements of a modern bridge??
