This was a rush job. I was asked to quote on the Friday and looked at the tree stump that had already been carved into a seat on Saturday and the work had to be completed before an invasion of 50 Journalists and tv crews on Wednesday. The Robin Hood in Gragg Vale is on the rout for the Tour de France and the publicity people were making a big splash. Sunday was a freezing cold day, but the forecast for Monday was warmer but not much in March, Tuesday was cooler again so I carved all day Monday. I normally stand to carve and raise the work to a reasonable height, but this was not possible on a tree stump that was still in the ground.
